Year 1: Spacial constructs and Orthographic Projections
First year term one project exploring abstract form and its reaction to light. Followed by workshop exploration into expressing three dimensional shapes in two dimensions through hand drawn media.
The 'place of memory' assignment tasked us to express, onto a 2D medium, a space from our memories. The space I remember was a hideaway I would make using blankets and the furniture of my home.
The two smaller drawings are part of a series which extracted the 2D from a 3D model. Three of the 2D images were then selected and merged to create a new imagined landscape.
Below are studies and photos made while on a field trip to Paris. During my trips abroad I have embraced opportunities to visit the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin, Corbusier's’ villas and most recently the Biennale architecture exhibition in Venice.
